Location: Tamworth (preferred), but open to considering having the successful candidate to be based in any regional offices in Northern NSW where we have an office. For example: Armidale, Coffs Harbour, Dubbo, Hunter Hub (Newcastle), Narrabri, Moree.

 

Salary: Salary range starting from $112,408 base + super

 

Tenure: Full-Time, Permanent

What we are looking for: 

 

  • A strong desire to contribute your skills and expertise to our business 
  • Someone who is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander decent / identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and is accepted as such by the community in which they were born, has lived or currently lives  
  • A commitment to promoting and preserving Aboriginal culture and value 
  • Tertiary or professional qualifications in Water Operations (hydrography), Science, Engineering, Asset Management or equivalent experience in an appropriate field
  • Competency in the use of Microsoft applications (e.g. Excel, Power BI)
  • Experience with planning techniques and the development of plans for field-based activities
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence 
  • Nice to Have:  An understanding or background in water monitoring and/or in the scheduling of water monitoring data collection and maintenance activities and resource management and/or the use of computerised Maintenance Management Systems.

What you will work on:

 

As a Water Monitoring Planner North, you will play a key role in coordinating and optimising water monitoring activities across regional networks, ensuring high-quality data is collected, analysed and shared to support critical water management decisions. Combining operational planning, stakeholder collaboration and data-driven improvement, you'll play an essential role in delivering reliable water monitoring services while championing a strong safety culture. 

 

You will be responsible for:

 

  • Delivery of Water Monitoring and Instrumentation Programs: Develop a schedule of planned activities within regions of WaterNSW To ensure the water monitoring program is delivered keeping instruments and sites maintained and calibrated, and ensuring timely water monitoring data is collected to meet the need of customers.  
  • Planning: Support the execution of the water monitoring program in an efficient and effective manner. Develop regional plans and ensure other water monitoring projects are planned and coordinated in line with the water monitoring schedule.  
  • Continuous Improvement: Ensure data is analysed and Key Performance Indicators are reviewed utilising the appropriate analysis techniques, for the continuous improvement in the delivery of the water monitoring program.  
  • Coordination and Support: Assist Area Managers, Team Leaders and Instrumentation Technicians with the planning and coordination of water monitoring activities, site and instrument maintenance and calibration, as required.  
  • Training and Knowledge Sharing: Provide support to water monitoring staff including training in the use of corporate systems and managing and maintaining staff training registers.
