As the national broadcaster, we are committed to growing our Indigenous workforce, increasing cultural awareness and providing content and services that tell Indigenous stories. The ABC’s Elevate RAP outlines our commitment to cultural understanding and respect, employment, content and community links. The Reconciliation Plan is based on a strategy of growing our Indigenous workforce across the entire organisation and includes not only media positions but many support roles in legal, visual design, marketing, IT and accounting.
We support career-paths of Indigenous employees with cadetship schemes, mentoring, training, networking and your own career development plan. Regular participation at Indigenous staff conferences and the role of the Bonner Committee helps shape the Indigenous landscape of the ABC.
